Game 72 lineups: Nats vs. Orioles

The Nationals scored nine runs last night, so you can understand why Davey Martinez is going with the same lineup tonight (aside from a swap of catchers, and of course pitchers). That does mean, however, that Michael A. Taylor is again on the bench, despite the fact he's 12-for-22 with a .600 on-base percentage and 1.236 OPS the last two weeks. That lineup is going up against right-hander Andrew Cashner, one of the Orioles' big offseason signings who like the rest of the team has been...

That does mean, however, that Michael A. Taylor is again on the bench, despite the fact he's 12-for-22 with a .600 on-base percentage and 1.236 OPS the last two weeks.

That lineup is going up against right-hander Andrew Cashner, one of the Orioles' big offseason signings who like the rest of the team has been enduring through a difficult year. He's 2-8 with a 4.98 ERA in 13 starts.

Gonzalez-Throw-Blue-Sidebar.jpgGio Gonzalez starts for the Nationals, and he was outstanding when he pitched at Camden Yards last month: 7 2/3 scoreless innings. Things haven't gone as well for the lefty since; he has allowed 12 runs and 20 hits in 16 1/3 innings over his last three outings.
