Shortstop Osvaldo Abreu had an outstanding game Friday in Glendale's 5-2 victory over Scottsdale. Abreu went 1-for-2 with a run, two walks and a stolen base. His average now at .255. He has four stolen bases. Abreu committed an error, but was a part of a double play.

Left-hander Nick Lee earned four outs late in the game for a hold. He allowed one base hit but no runs with one strikeout. His ERA is now 1.80. Lee has surrendered just two earned runs in his eight appearances.

Center fielder Andrew Stevenson hasn't played since Nov. 10 but has a .338 average. He has 16 hits and a .390 average in his last 10 games with three doubles, a homer and five RBIs. His OPS was .981 for those 10 games and is at .884 for the AFL season.

Right-hander Austin Voth had his best game of the AFL season Tuesday in a 10-0 shutout at Salt River. Voth tossed five shutout innings, scattering three hits with no walks and three strikeouts. Voth (2-2) has now won back-to-back games without allowing a run over 10 innings.

It was another good week for Glendale. With a week of games remaining, the Desert Dogs (12-12) are 1 1/2 games back of Surprise and their elimination number is three. They have won eight of their last 10 games, but now pretty much need to win these last four games to have a shot at the playoffs. They play Surprise on Tuesday. The championship game is Saturday.
