MASN, the mid-Atlantic's leader in live sports entertainment, will broadcast more than 100 men's and women's Division I college basketball games during the 2016-17 season, offering its viewers a lineup featuring local competitors Maryland and Georgetown, top-ranked teams and tournament action. The regional sports network's hoops schedule will air on both MASN and MASN2, and features games from nine men's conferences and some of the top women's programs in the nation.

Maryland, ranked No. 25 in the preseason Top 25 by The Associated Press, will appear on MASN in the Barclays Center Classic, against Richmond on MASN at 9:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 25, with the winner advancing to the championship game on Saturday, Nov. 26 at 9:30 p.m. on MASN.

Perennial Big East contender Georgetown will appear on MASN four times, beginning with a Nov. 12 home game against South Carolina-Upstate at noon on MASN2. The Hoyas will also play Coppin State on Wednesday, Nov. 30 at 6:30 p.m. on MASN2; Creighton on Wednesday, Jan. 25 at 7 p.m. on MASN2; and St. John's on Saturday, Feb. 25 at noon on MASN2.

MASN enters its 11th season as the official cable television network of the George Mason University Patriots and will televise four games for the Atlantic 10 contender, beginning with a Nov. 26 home contest against James Madison at 6 p.m. on MASN.

"MASN's college basketball schedule will allow fans to check out some of the top men's and women's hoops action, including coverage of top-ranked teams and some heated local rivalries," said Jim Cuddihy, MASN's executive vice president for marketing, programming and affiliate relations. "We're proud to be able to broadcast men's basketball games involving Maryland and Georgetown, two of the most storied programs in the region."

Nine men's basketball conferences will be represented on MASN, including the American Athletic Conference, Atlantic 10, Big 12, Big East, Big South, Conference USA, Ivy League, Ohio Valley Conference and Patriot League.

Other regional teams scheduled to do battle on MASN include VCU, Liberty, Mount St. Mary's and Howard.

Twenty Division I women's games from the Big 12 and Big East will appear on the MASN schedule. MASN's coverage of women's basketball concludes with two games from the Big 12 Tournament in March.

MASN will also carry college magazine and coaches' shows, including "Inside Basketball With Duke's Coach K," "Inside N.C. State Basketball With Mark Gottfried," "Inside East Carolina Basketball With Jeff Lebo," "Inside Rutgers Basketball," "Inside Villanova" and "UNC Basketball with Roy Williams."

In addition to its college basketball schedule, MASN will be a destination this winter for more than 25 NCAA Division I men's ice hockey games. MASN will feature coverage of all six Division I collegiate hockey conferences, plus action from the Friendship Four tournament for the Belpot Cup in November from Belfast, Northern Ireland.

MASN's college ice hockey schedule kicks off with Western Michigan hosting Miami (Ohio) on Friday, Nov. 4 at 7 p.m on MASN. Teams from all six of college hockey's conferences - Atlantic Hockey Association, Big 10, ECAC Hockey, Hockey East Association, National Collegiate Hockey Conference and Western Collegiate Hockey Association - will be featured on MASN's schedule. Three of the four teams that competed in last year's Frozen Four - Quinnipiac, Boston College and Denver - will appear on MASN broadcasts.
