Michael Gonzalez rejoins Nats on minor league deal (with Nats lineup)

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. - The Nationals announced this morning that left-handed reliever Michael Gonzalez has rejoined the team on a minor league deal. I'd imagine Gonzalez will report to Triple-A Syracuse, although the team has not announced Gonzalez's assignment. Gonzalez, 35, was released by the Nats on Tuesday. He originally signed a minor league deal with the team early this month, and allowed four runs on seven hits over four Grapefruit League innings. The veteran lefty joined the Nats...PORT ST. The veteran lefty joined the Nats on a minor league deal back in 2012, and quickly worked his way up to the big leagues, where he became a solid contributor on the Nats' National League East championship team. With Jerry Blevins and Ross Detwiler serving as the Nats' lefties in the bullpen to begin the season, there wasn't a spot for Gonzalez. But along with Xavier Cedeno, he'll serve as left-handed relief depth that the Nats might call upon later in the season. Here is the Nationals' lineup for today's Grapefruit League finale against the Mets: 3B Anthony Rendon CF Denard Span RF Jayson Werth C Wilson Ramos LF Bryce Harper SS Ian Desmond 1B Adam LaRoche 2B Danny Espinosa RHP Jordan Zimmermann
