Manager Dave Trembley says he's seen the following from Jeremy Guthrie, who makes his fourth start today:

"Better delivery, better location of his fastball," Trembley said. "You're never going to get a guy with a better attitude. I don't think there's ever going to be a fluctuation in his attitude. The guy's an A-plus in that category. "Jeremy Guthrie's probably the hardest-working guy I've ever had. No question about that. Everybody knows that about him. The guy never missed a start, threw 200 innings. His record wasn't what he wanted it to be, nor what we expected it to be. "I've said this before, he got out of sync going to the WBC. He's come into camp as we expected, in great shape. His delivery is much more consistent, and the location of his pitches for the most part has been down. And that's what he needs to do. I'm sure he'd tell you the same thing. He needs to locate his pitches better." Time to crunch some offensive numbers:

• Josh Bell has one hit since his two-homer game in the exhibition opener.
• Rhyne Hughes has six hits, six RBIs and six strikeouts in 17 at-bats.
• Cesar Izturis is 2-for-19.
• Adam Jones is 5-for-23.
• Nick Markakis is 9-for-24 (.375). Both of his RBIs have come on home runs.
• Luke Scott is 6-for-17 (.353), and his eight RBIs lead the club.
• Lou Montanez's average has climbed to .308, and his 26 at-bats lead the club. Robert Andino is second with 25 at-bats.
• Miguel Tejada is 3-for-20 with no homers or RBIs.
• Nolan Reimold and Matt Wieters are a combined 1-for-30. Wieters has the hit.

"We're going to have a very good offensive lineup," Trembley said. "As we get closer to the end of spring, I think it's apparent I'm stretching guys out, giving them more at-bats, playing them back-to-back days. The more at-bats they get, the better it will be for them. We'll have a good offensive team, but there will be days when the other team pitches better. It doesn't mean there's anything wrong. That's baseball." Asked if he's satisfied with the offensive performance so far, Trembley replied, "You're never satisfied. You always want to do the best you can. You always think you can do more. I'm pleased with the work, I'm pleased with the way our situational hitting has improved. The attitude has been tremendous." Update: Tejada just collected his first RBI with a two-out single that scored Nick Markakis, who doubled to left-center. Orioles 1, Blue Jays 0.
