Winter Meetings: Rumors abuzz on Day 1

NASHVILLE - Day 1 of the Winter Meetings - and my energy - are fading fast.

My day was kicked off with Steve Melewski's interview with MLB Network's Harold Reynolds and never slowed down.

One latte all day, Olivia? A big mistake, but we'll try better tomorrow.

The first day featured a lobby full of chatter and rumors.

While the Orioles announced no moves today, they reached an agreement with Darren O'Day, pending a physical. In addition, Orioles executive vice president Dan Duquette confirmed that the club has made progress in adding to its pitching staff.

Check out Duquette's Day 1 wrap-up in the video I shot below.

While not technically Orioles news, one of the coolest things around the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center today was Major League Baseball commissioner Rob Manfred's announcement that Cal Ripken Jr. is now a senior advisor to the commissioner on youth programs and outreach, a well-deserved role.

Ripken and Manfred met with the media in a 3 p.m. press conference to discuss growing youth baseball around the United States. You can check out the full video below.

We're still in the process of wrapping things up here (and who knows what could happen at any moment?) .For now, if you want more behind-the-scenes views, add masnOrioles on Snapchat and follow @masnOrioles on Instagram.
