Watch four "Nationals Classics" on MASN HD this week

As the weather continues to get colder in the Washington D.C. area, the hot stove continues to heat up around the baseball world. While general manager Mike Rizzo continues to work on the Nationals' roster at the Winter Meetings, relive four magical games from the 2014 season. By all accounts, 2014 was the season of walk-off wins for the Nationals. And no, I'm not just talking about the 10-game winning streak in August, Many of the Nats' walk-off wins came before and after the winning streak. werth-walkoff-white-sidebar.jpgThis week, we have three "Nationals Classics" that resulted in walk-off wins and a game featuring a grand slam from Jayson Werth. Here's what's on deck this week on MASN HD: Tuesday, Dec. 9, 12:30 p.m.: April was a rough month for the Nationals. Rookie manager Matt Williams lost Ryan Zimmerman and Bryce Harper for extended periods of time due to hand injuries. That's why the Nats' 5-4 win over the Angels on April 23 was particularly impressive. The Nats were trailing 4-1 heading into the ninth. Jose Lobaton hit a solo home run, Werth doubled in a pair of runs and Adam LaRoche singled home Werth to give the Nats a walk-off victory. Wednesday, Dec. 10, 10 p.m.: Jordan Zimmermann pitched perhaps the worst game of his career on April 9, 2014 against the Marlins. Thankfully, an offense led by Werth's grand slam saved him from an early season loss. Werth's slam in the eighth inning secured a 10-7 Nationals victory. Thursday, Dec. 11, noon: The Nationals were perhaps the hottest team in the month of August. The team tied a franchise record with 10 straight wins on Aug. 21, 2014 against the Diamondbacks. The Nats and D-backs were in a scoreless tie heading to the bottom of the ninth. With one out, Denard Span singled and Anthony Rendon drove him in one batter later with a single to center field. The 1-0 victory marked the fifth straight walk-off win for the Nats. Friday, Dec. 12, 9 a.m.: The Nats' winning streak was five games old on Aug. 17, 2014. The streak reached six games on this day as Werth led the team to its first of five straight walk-off wins. In the bottom of the 11th inning, Werth led off with a double. One out later, Scott Hairston doubled Werth home. The Nats defeated the Pirates 6-5 and kept their winning streak alive.
