I've been able to come out and attack right out of the gates," he said. "That's been my mindset, to throw strikes and right now being the only lefty in the 'pen, there is a chance I can be in there every day." Does Matusz like pitching in this role better than he thought he would? "I like to pitch in the big leagues and help the team," he said. "It's definitely a different role and has been an adjustment. I like having to be ready every day and knowing there is a possibility of getting into the game. Get the adrenaline running every game. Right now I'm just excited about keeping this going. "It's definitely a different mindset, having to be ready every day. There's a strict routine every day in how you prepare for the game. But I'm starting to get used to it now. I like being ready every day. It's a fun and exciting new role."
