Orioles lineup vs. Nationals

The Orioles are changing leadoff hitters again, with Jonathan Schoop batting first tonight against Nationals right-hander Jeremy Hellickson.

Trey Mancini is on the bench. He hit .272/.339/.427 in March/April and is batting .198/.281/.327 in May. He's 1-for-17 in his last four games and 6-for-53 in his last 13.

Jace Peterson is in left field.

Chris Davis is batting cleanup. He's 11-for-30 (.367) with three doubles, two home runs and nine RBIs lifetime against Hellickson.

Adam Jones is batting .323/.350/.525 with five doubles and five home runs in 24 games this month.

The Orioles have scored six runs in the last four games and 21 in the last nine. They've been held to three runs or fewer in nine of their last 10.

Their .232 batting average ranks 26th in the majors and their 207 runs place them 25th. A .682 OPS ranks last in the American League and 27th in the majors.

Since April 29, the Nationals have posted the best record in the majors at 19-6 and have outscored their opponents 116-68. This is the club's best 25-game stretch since going 19-6 from April 30-May 27, 2015.

The Nationals have won eight consecutive road games, tied for the second-longest streak in team history. The 2012 club won eight in a row from July 28-Aug. 11. Their 18-8 road record is the best in the majors.

Double-A Bowie's Cedric Mullins has been named Eastern League Player of the Week after going 14-for-25 (.560) with a double, triple, five RBIs, three walks, three stolen bases and nine runs scored. Mullins tied his career high Sunday with four hits.
