More on retirements and Elias' latest media session
Members of the Orioles organization who have been fired or won't have their contracts renewed beyond Oct. 31 bring the highly publicized total to 25 in fewer than three weeks. However, it's important to give a nod to Len Johnston, who's retiring after 43 years with the club. His departure at age 90 shouldn't go ignored. Johnston served as administrator of Sarasota operations, making the move from Fort Lauderdale. He's been sort of a behind-the-scenes guy unless you hang around the spring...

Veteran hitting coach Radison energizes Shorebirds - and vice-versa
SALISBURY, Md. - Beneath the third base stands at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium, the sound of bat meeting ball is keeping beat with Waka Flocka Flame's epithet-rich "50K Remix." Before each swing, Dan Radison's right arm snakes around a screen, feeding a pitch to a waiting batter. The 6-foot, 195-lb. left-hander went 36-30 with a 2.48 ERA and 1.06 WHIP in 117 games (88 starts) over the last four seasons with the Chunichi Dragons in the Central...

Radison among minor league hires
I wrote a few days ago that the Orioles have hired a few minor league coaches for next season. I've heard that one new addition will be former Nationals first base coach Dan Radison. Though assignments haven't been made official, Radison could serve as hitting instructor at Double-A Bowie, with Denny Hocking perhaps moving up to Triple-A Norfolk. Radison was fired by the Nationals on July 1 after Davey Johnson replaced Jim Riggleman as manager. Trent Jewett replaced Radison, who is close...
