MASN announces 2015-16 college basketball schedule

MASN, the region's leader in live sports entertainment, will broadcast more than 200 men's and women's Division I college basketball games during the 2015-16 season, offering its viewers a lineup featuring top-ranked programs, local rivalries and tournament action. The regional sports network's hoops schedule will air on both MASN and MASN2, and features games from 15 men's conferences and some of the top women's programs in the nation.

Basketball action on MASN tips off on Friday, Nov. 13, when Colgate visits George Mason at 7 p.m. on MASN. That night, MASN2 features a hardwood doubleheader, with Dartmouth at Seton Hall at 7 p.m., and Belmont at Marquette at 9 p.m.

MASN enters its 10th season as the official cable television network of the George Mason University Patriots and will televise six games for the Atlantic 10 contender. Other Patriots games to air on MASN include St. Bonaventure at George Mason on Jan. 6; Dayton at George Mason on Feb. 6; Davidson at George Mason on Feb. 13; VCU at George Mason on Feb. 24; and Richmond at George Mason on March 5.

Perennial Big East contender Georgetown will host UNC-Asheville on Dec. 19 on MASN2. Other regional favorites that will play on MASN include Liberty, Loyola, George Washington, Old Dominion, Morgan State, Radford, William & Mary, Towson, James Madison and Delaware State.

The extensive college basketball schedule airing on MASN will feature four men's teams ranked in the preseason top 25 by The Associated Press: No. 4 Kansas, No. 8 Oklahoma, No. 22 Baylor and No. 24 Butler.

"MASN's college basketball schedule will allow fans to check out some of the best men's and women's hoops action from coast to coast," said Jim Cuddihy, MASN's executive vice president for marketing, programming and affiliate relations. "Whether it's favorite area teams or critical matchups from some of the most powerful conferences in the country, MASN will be a destination for college basketball fans during the 2015-16 season."

In total, 15 men's conferences will be represented on MASN, including the American Athletic Conference, Atlantic 10, Big 12, Big East, Big South, Colonial Athletic Association, Conference USA, Horizon League, Ivy League, Northeast Conference, Ohio Valley Conference, Patriot League, Southern Conference, Southland Conference and Western Athletic Conference.

Additionally, MASN will air action from the Brooklyn Hoops Holiday Invitational Tournament and Barclay Center Classic in November, and the Bill Walton Basketball Festival and Orange Bowl Classic in December.

Forty-five Division I women's games, primarily from the Big 12 and Conference USA, appear on the MASN schedule. MASN's coverage of women's basketball concludes with two games from the Big 12 Tournament in March. Among the women's teams ranked in the preseason AP top 25 appearing on MASN are No. 3 Notre Dame, No. 5 Baylor, No. 12 Texas, No. 17 Oklahoma and No. 24 Michigan State.

MASN will also carry college magazine and coaches' shows, including "Inside Basketball With Duke's Coach K," "Inside N.C. State Basketball With Mark Gottfried," "Inside East Carolina Basketball With Jeff Lebo," "Inside Villanova Basketball," "Rutgers Basketball Story 2016," "Penn State Basketball: In the Paint," "UNC Basketball with Roy Williams" and Liberty University's "Game On."
