Starting lineups: Nats vs. Mets in West Palm Beach

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - And we're back. Caught a flight back down to Florida this morning, just in time to see the Nationals take on a Mets split-squad this evening at FITTEAM Ballpark of the Palm Beaches. Thanks as always to Pete Kerzel for filling in during my break; I'll be with you the rest of the way, which actually isn't that much longer. There are only 12 Grapefruit League games left on the schedule before the club packs up and heads north.

max-scherzer-bullpen-spring.jpgWe still aren't seeing anything close to resembling the Nationals' projected "A" lineup, not with Adam Eaton still getting his feet wet in minor league games and Daniel Murphy still getting used to taking batting practice on the field. But there are four regular starters in tonight's lineup, plus Max Scherzer on the mound. Scherzer is making what should be his third-to-last start of the spring, and he's lined up now to take the mound March 29 in Cincinnati for the opener.

Victor Robles may not be there in Cincinnati on opening day, but he's back in the lineup tonight and you can't say the Nationals aren't getting a real good look at their top prospect. Only José Marmolejos (who also starts at first base tonight) has taken more plate appearances this spring than Robles. The 20-year-old outfielder will get some hacks this evening against Mets right-hander Zack Wheeler.
