Nationals announce roster moves

The Washington Nationals made the following roster moves on Tuesday. Nationals President of Baseball Operations and General Manager Mike Rizzo made the announcements.

· Recalled outfielder Andrew Stevenson from Triple-A Rochester

· Recalled right-handed pitcher Wander Suero from Triple-A Rochester

· Placed right-handed pitcher Kyle Finnegan on the Paternity List

· Optioned outfielder Victor Robles to Triple-A Rochester

Stevenson, 27, had a .375/.375/.500 slash line in six games since rejoining the Red Wings with three doubles, one RBI, one stolen base and six runs scored. He hit .215 with five doubles, three homers, 15 RBI, one stolen base and 17 runs scored in 80 games for the Nationals in 2021.

Suero, 29, returns to the Nationals after appearing in seven games with the Red Wings since being optioned on Aug. 3. In three games prior to being recalled, he tossed three scoreless innings with five strikeouts, one walk and one hit allowed. Suero is 2-2 with a 6.29 ERA in 38 games out of Washington's bullpen this season.

Finnegan, 29, went 4-5 with six saves and posted a 2.77 ERA (16 ER / 52.0 IP) with 26 walks and 51 strikeouts in 55 relief appearances prior to being placed on the Paternity List. He has not allowed an earned run in his last seven games, going 0-1 with three saves, four walks and four strikeouts. Finnegan leads Washington relievers in games played (55) and strikeouts (51).

Robles, 24, hit .203 with 21 doubles, one triple, two homers, 19 RBI, eight stolen bases and 37 runs scored in 107 games for the Nationals in 2021.
