Trade official (updated)
The Orioles just announced that they've acquired infielder Julio Lugo and cash from the Cardinals for a PTBNL or cash. To make room on the 40-man roster, the Orioles designated first baseman Michael Aubrey for assignment. Julio-Lugo_Cardinals.jpg Aubrey barely played this spring because of a minor medical procedure on his back and a groin injury sustained while running the bases in Tampa. He batted .289 with four homers and 14 RBIs in 31 games last season. Robert Andino learned of the trade earlier today, but he tried not to let it weigh on his mind as he prepared for today's game. "I'm just here. I work here," he said while sitting in front of his locker. "It's going to be one of us, so whatever happens happens. I don't know. It isn't my call. I'm here. Whatever happens, I'll deal with it. "It caught me by surprise, but like I said, it's out of your hands. There's nothing you can do about it." Andino could be traded before the Orioles break camp. That's how they acquired him from the Marlins last spring for pitcher Hayden Penn. "It ain't my first rodeo," he said. "I don't know. We'll see. I probably know less than all of you (reporters). "I know they made a trade. I'll just play my ball wherever I'm at - here with the Orioles, there. I'll just play my game. It's out of my control. My job is to go out there and play. That's it. And see what happens."
