Orioles 5, Phillies 4
Josh Perrault gave up three runs in the bottom of the ninth, including a two-run shot by Greg Dobbs, but the Orioles held on for a 5-4 win in Clearwater. Asked about Kevin Millwood, manager Dave Trembley replied, "All you had to see was the first inning to tell you about Millwood. Case closed." Well, not quite. What exactly does that mean? Can we open up the case for a few more minutes? "What he did in the first inning ought to tell you everything about Millwood," Trembley continued. "He knows how to pitch. He used all his pitches. He went to the well three times today. He got his pitch count over 90. He battled his butt off. He pitched great." OK, now we can close it. Thanks. Trembley also was impressed with Mike Gonzalez, who happens to be the closer. "I think Gonzalez answered the bell, as well," he said. "His arm speed was improved. I'm sure you saw the same thing I did. Velocity was there, sharpness. It seemed like he had some energy. It seemed like he was locked in to pitch in a big league game."
