Orioles lineup vs. Blue Jays

Chris Davis stays on the bench tonight while the Orioles open a three-game series at home against the Blue Jays.

Davis pinch-hit in the ninth inning yesterday and struck out with the count full. He's 6-for-45 (.133) with a .388 OPS, three doubles, an RBI, three walks and 13 strikeouts.

His last home run was hit Sept. 23 in Toronto, where the Blue Jays are prohibited from playing this summer. They've relocated to Buffalo.

Davis' last start came in Friday's 15-3 loss to the Nationals. He has two hits in his last 19 at-bats.

Pat Valaika is in left field and Cedric Mullins is in center. Andrew Velazquez is the shortstop, with José Iglesias again out of the lineup.

Anthony Santander has an 11-game hitting streak that's one short of his career high. He's batting second again.

Severino Is batting .448 (13-for-29) with three home runs and 17 RBIs over his last seven games and has hit safely in 14 of 19 this season.

Alex Cobb is making his 12 career start against the Blue Jays. He's 3-5 with a 4.67 ERA and 1.281 WHIP in 61 2/3 innings.

Former Orioles catcher Caleb Joseph, who's back in Baltimore this week as a member of the Jays taxi squad, has gone 5-for-15 against Cobb. Randal Grichuk is 5-for-7 with three doubles.

Ryu, signed as a free agent on Dec. 27, has allowed one run and three hits with 15 strikeouts over 11 innings in his last two starts.

Ryu started against the Orioles as a Dodgers rookie in 2013 and allowed five runs and eight hits in six innings at Camden Yards.

Valaika is 3-for-6 with a double and home run against Ryu. Davis is 2-for-3 with a double.

Toronto shortstop Bo Bichette was placed on the 10-day injured list yesterday with a sprained right knee. Through 13 games this season, Bichette was batting .356 with a 1.065 OPS and went 5-for-5 Wednesday with a home run against the Marlins.

The Orioles were 3-7 against the Jays at Camden Yards last season and 8-11 overall.
