Orioles lineup vs. Yankees

Ryan Mountcastle is elevated to the cleanup spot this afternoon as Orioles manager Brandon Hyde makes more adjustments to a lineup that's missing key players to injuries.

Renato Núñez and Cedric Mullins remain out of the lineup, with Pat Valaika playing first base today and Mason Williams getting another start in center field.

Pedro Severino is the designated hitter and Bryan Holaday is behind the plate.

Iglesias is batting .511 (24-for-47) with runners on base, the highest average in the majors among qualifiers, and .444 (12-for-27) with runners in scoring position.

Among players with at least 80 at-bats, Iglesias' .396 average this season is leading the majors.

"What he's playing through, I give him a ton of credit," Hyde said. "This is something that we are going to manage the rest of the year. This is something that if it was over the course of a full season, I think that he'd have to take some significant time off, but because we're in this short spring season and what he means to our team, and he knows what he means to our club, he wants to be around, he wants to be in the lineup as much as possible.

"I think that there would be a lot of players who would cash in and Iggy has been an ultimate pro and I give him a ton of credit for playing with something that's bothering him and he needs rest to recover from it. I talk to him every day, we go through the next few days of how we're going to manage it and the we communicate on a daily basis and he's always up front and honest with me.

"He wants to be in there as much as he possibly can and I want him in there. We're a totally different team with him in there. So we're just going to continue this mindset throughout the rest of the season. But what he's doing I think sets a great example to our young players of really showing a grind mindset of getting through a season banged up."

DJ Stewart stays in right field after belting two home runs last night - his first two hits of the season. He's replacing Anthony Santander, who's on the injured list with a strained oblique muscle.
