Orioles lineup vs. Athletics (updated)

The Orioles have sent out today's lineup ahead of their roster move, with left-hander Zac Lowther joining them from the alternate training site in Bowie and veteran lefty Wade LeBlanc being designated for assignment. The transaction will be announced shortly.

Update: It was just announced. Lowther is wearing No. 59 and waiting to make his major league debut.

Lowther will be in the bullpen this afternoon as the Orioles try to avoid a sweep and the Athletics attempt to run their winning streak to 14 games.

Severino doubled last night for his first extra-base hit since homering on April 8 against the Red Sox. He had gone eight games without an extra-base hit.

Austin Hays is in left field and Ryan McKenna is in right.

Eight of Mancini's 16 hits have been for extra bases - four doubles and four home runs.

Left-hander John Means, pushed back two extra days, has allowed only four runs in 23 2/3 innings. He's surrendered only two home runs.

Means has made one career start against the Athletics, working three innings and allowing one earned run and five total. It was the first start of his major league career, on April 9, 2019 in Baltimore, and the Orioles lost 13-2.

Marcus Semien hit a three-run homer in the second. He signed a free-agent deal with the Blue Jays in January.

The Athletics are starting left-hander Jesús Luzardo, selected by the Nationals in the third round of the 2016 draft out of Stoneman-Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla. He was traded a year later in the deal that sent relievers Sean Doolittle and Ryan Madson to D.C.

Luzardo has made four starts this season and registered a 5.89 ERA and 1.582 WHIP in 18 1/3 innings. He's walked eight batters and struck out 21.

Luzardo, who's never faced the Orioles, is 4-2 with a 2.79 ERA and 1.103 WHIP in 12 career games in Oakland and 0-1 with a 6.61 ERA and 1.532 WHIP in 10 games on the road.

The Athletics' 13-game winning streak is the third-longest in club history. The won 14 in a row in 1988 and 20 straight in 2002.
