Orioles and Tigers lineups

The Orioles received another high-leverage reliever this afternoon with Rule 5 pick Tyler Wells' reinstatement from the 10-day injured list.

Wells replaces Isaac Mattson, who was optioned to Triple-A Norfolk after last night's 5-2 loss to the Tigers.

Wells has been on the IL with tendinitis in his right wrist.

Anthony Santander is the cleanup hitter again today. He's homered in three consecutive games for the first time in his career, totaling four in that stretch.

Cedric Mullins has an 18-game hitting streak. He's batting .347 (25-for-72) with nine extra-base hits - four doubles, a triple and four home runs - during that stretch. He also has five RBIs, 15 runs scored, seven walks, one hit-by-pitch and five stolen bases.

DJ Stewart is in right field, Jorge Mateo is the second baseman and Richie Martin is playing shortstop.

Ramón Urías left last night's game with soreness in his upper right leg/groin area and is on the bench today.

Austin Wynns is catching.

The Orioles don't have to worry about Miguel Cabrera hitting his 500th career home run today. He's out of the lineup. Former Oriole Renato Núñez is playing first base and former Oriole Jonathan Schoop is the designated hitter.

Right-hander Matt Manning, another Tigers rookie starting in the series, opposed Means in Detroit and allowed two earned runs and five total with seven hits in 5 2/3 innings. Maikel Franco hit a solo home run.

The Red Sox are starting Nick Pivetta, Chris Sale and Eduardo Rodriguez in the three-game series at Fenway Park that begins Friday night. The Orioles will counter with Spenser Watkins, Jorge López and a starter to be determined.
