Orioles and Rangers lineups

The Orioles get a four-game break from contending opponents, facing the Rangers tonight with rookie Zac Lowther on the mound and a designated hitter back in their lineup.

Trey Mancini is the cleanup hitter and DH. Anthony Santander remains out of the lineup with a sore left hamstring.

Santander ran sprints earlier today and hit in the cage.

Austin Wynns is catching.

Lowther is making his ninth appearance and fifth start. He's allowed 21 runs and 25 hits with 11 walks and 19 strikeouts in 19 2/3 innings.

Since holding the Royals to one run and three hits in six innings, Lowther has surrendered 10 runs and nine hits in 5 1/3 innings in his last two outings.

Infielder/outfielder Tyler Nevin is with the club but hasn't been placed on the active roster.

Reliever Manny Barreda cleared waivers today and was assigned to Triple-A Norfolk.

The Rangers are starting right-hander Glenn Otto, a fifth-round pick of the Yankees in 2017 out of Rice University who was acquired on July 29 in the Joey Gallo deal. He's made four starts as a rookie since the trade and allowed 17 runs and 21 hits in 16 1/3 innings.

Otto has walked six batters and struck out 19.

In his last two starts, Otto has surrendered 15 runs and 15 hits over 6 2/3 innings.

The Rangers have the second-worst record in the American League at 55-97 and are 22-55 on the road. They've lost four in a row and eight of 10.

The Orioles won two of three games in Texas April 16-18. The winning pitchers were Jorge López and Travis Lakins Sr., who are on the 60-day injured list. César Valdez, designated for assignment yesterday, recorded a save.

Lakins was tagged with the loss in the series finale.
