Orioles invite 12 players to spring training

The Orioles have revealed their list of non-roster invitees to spring training, and it includes two new middle infielders and a catcher who wasn't in the original group.

Johnny Giavotella and Robert Andino will report to the Ed Smith Stadium complex in Sarasota, as previously reported. They'll be joined by catcher Yermin Mercedes, who replaces the injured Austin Wynns.

Wynns is recovering from an ankle injury suffered while playing for Tigres del Licey in the Dominican Winter League.

Here's the full list, which contains 12 players and could be expanded if the Orioles make any more moves:

He won the South Atlantic League batting title.

For you numbers freaks, Rule 5 outfielders Aneury Tavarez and Anthony Santander will wear 57 and 54, respectively. Adcock is wearing 52, Bradley 73, Stewart 50, Rodriguez 70, Mercedes 75, Perez 76, Sisco 74, Dickerson 18, Giavotella 16, Schafer 28 and Washington 72. Andino apparently hasn't been assigned a number at this time.
