Pre-game notes (w/Marlins lineup)
Brian Roberts is expected to take live batting practice today and tomorrow in Sarasota. "It would be nice to get him in a game at the end of the week, but I'll have to check with the medical people and see what he says," manager Dave Trembley said. Koji Uehara told pitching coach Rick Kranitz on Sunday morning that he doesn't need much more time to get ready for the opener. "He feels like his command is there, his arm speed is there," Trembley said. Uehara remains day-to-day with a sore left hamstring. "Kranny asked Koji if he had to pitch right now, could he pitch, and he said, 'Yes.' But obviously you don't want to do that," Trembley said. Nolan Reimold is serving as the designated hitter today, but he'll start in left field tomorrow. Felix Pie and Lou Montanez will join him in the outfield. Asked what he wants to see from Jeremy Guthrie today, Trembley said, "Let's get Jeremy to locate better, let's get him through the first inning. If he gets through the first inning, that would be good. Let's just see him locate his pitches better, and the other stuff will follow in order. "The last two times he's pitched, he's been up. I think a lot has to do with his delivery. He spent some time with Kranny between this start and the last one to work on that, so I would expect it to be better today." Here's the Marlins lineup (minus a DH): Chris Coglan LF Cameron Maybin CF Hanley Ramirez SS Jorge Cantu 3B Dan Uggla 2B Cody Ross RF Gaby Sanchez 1B Brett Hayes C Ricky Nolasco RHP
